Crime is all around us, ranging from simple misdemeanors to the most unspeakable acts. Have you ever heard of the Green River Killer, the BTK Killer, or the Golden State Killer? Yes, there are a lot of serial killers. But do you know what is even more terrifying than their heinous acts? The fact that they are still alive today. However, they are locked up in prison, so you can take a breath.
Gary Ridgway
Gary Ridgway was known as the Green River Killer. He was convicted of 49 murders of women and girls in Washington, during the 1980s and 1990s. Those heinous acts weren’t the only dark actions of his past. He was arrested in 2001, but he didn’t plead guilty until 2003. He is the second most prolific serial killer in United States history, due to the high number of murders.
Most of his victims were alleged to be sex workers and other women in vulnerable circumstances, including runaways. The reason he received the name “Green River Killer” is because his first five victims were found in the Green River before his identity was discovered. He would stranger his victims to death, and often times came back to have intercourse with the corpses. The reason he didn’t get the death penalty was that he agreed to disclose the locations of still-missing women.
Dennis Rader
Dennis Rader, also known as the BTK Killer, committed his crimes between 1974 and 1991. He is known to have killed 8 women and 2 men in Kansas, and he stalked several more. He was also known for taunting the police by sending letters describing his killings. Rader gave himself the name of BTK Killer, which stands for “bind, torture, kill.” This is how he murdered his victims.
In 2005, he pled guilty and was sentenced to 10 life sentences. He is eligible for parole, but it won’t be until he has served at least 175 years. Therefore, you don’t need to worry about him lurking around the corner in your lifetime, nor his…
Joseph James DeAngelo Jr.

He committed at least 13 murders, 50 rapes, and 120 burglaries across California. This happened between 1974 and 1986. As you can see, all of these serial killers were running loose over the same decades…
He was given many different names throughout his sprees, such as the Visalia Ransacker, the East Area Rapist, the Night Stalker, and the Original Night Stalker. He is also believed to have taunted his victims and the police in obscene phone calls and even written communication.
This serial killer finally pleaded guilty in 2020 for his crimes throughout the 70s and 80s. He is currently serving a life sentence without parole in California.
A-EZ Out Bail Bonds
It is no doubt that serial killers horrify and fascinate us at the same time, especially if they are still alive. However, these three serial killers are locked away in prison for their entire lives. Yet, they still had a chance to build a defense system and build their case before being sentenced. They did this by posting bail.
If you or a loved one has been arrested and needs to post bail, get in touch with A-EZ Out Bail Bonds. Our team will grant you a bail bond, so you can build your defense team for trial.
